EMIS Expert Takes the Helm in Trinity Consultants' Washington, D.C. Office

Trinity Consultants, an international environmental consulting firm that specializes in industrial air quality issues, recently appointed Jason Schmitz as Principal Consultant leading the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Mr. Schmitz has more than 17 years of experience as a consultant and regulator on industrial environmental issues. His specialization is specification and implementation leadership on enterprise-wide environmental, health, safety and security (EHSS) information management systems. He leverages his subject matter expertise within environmental, energy, climate change/sustainability, health and safety with extensive information technology skills to help clients design and deliver sustainable information management solutions. He has provided project direction for large scale systems in a variety of industries including chemicals, oil and gas, power, steel, paint, and aluminum manufacturing.

Mike Remsberg, Managing Director of Trinity’s Eastern Region, commented on Schmitz’ new role. “Jason’s strong project management skills are a valuable asset to our eastern operations both in terms of permitting and compliance work and his area of specialization, EH&S information management systems. Due to the extensive data management and reporting requirements associated with so many current regulations, most industrial organizations are best served by addressing compliance and information management simultaneously. Jason has the perfect background to provide that strategic leadership.”

Mr. Schmitz graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He is affiliated with the Air & Waste Management Association and the National Association of Environmental Managers. He has published several articles on environmental information management topics and as received awards for his project work and professional mentoring efforts.

Since it opened in 2001, Trinity’s Washington, D.C. office has completed hundreds of projects addressing air quality permitting and regulatory requirements for companies in the Mid-Atlantic region. Trinity operates in 31 other U.S. locations and in China and the Middle East. Trinity also markets BREEZE® environmental modeling software, implements technology solutions for EH&S information management, and provides professional EH&S training and EH&S staffing services.
