Overview of Air Quality Regulations

This 60-90 minute module provides an overview of Clean Air Act programs and requirements. It covers the air pollutants addressed by CAA programs, how EPA defines clean air, how states implement CAA provisions, air permitting programs for industrial sources, and standards related to new sources and emitters of air toxics. It also describes EPA’s Risk Management Program, requirements related to ozone-depleting substances and pollutants that contribute to the formation of acid rain, and most recently, requirements around greenhouse gas emissions. This module is a go-to resource for environmental professionals new to air quality responsibilities, operations personnel who need general familiarity with air quality requirements, and anyone who needs a refresher on the complex air programs.
