Introduction to ISO 45001 Health & Safety - OHSAS 18001 Replacement Standard

The OHSAS 18001 standard (to be replaced by ISO 45001 in 2016) establishes globally accepted requirements for an Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS). Each organization’s OHSMS needs to identify legal requirements, work to achieve continuous improvement through objectives and programs, evaluate risks and hazards, control risks of the organization (including procurement and contractors), evaluate their compliance, monitor and measure their conformance, as well as audit and review their results. This course provides attendees with a thorough insight into OHSMS requirements and the anticipated upcoming changes to the OHSAS 18001 standard. Attendees will learn how the OHSAS 18001 and ISO 45001 standards can be interpreted and applied in a variety of different business/industry sectors.

Best Practices in Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Reporting

This one-day course is for environmental and sustainability professionals who plan to disclose carbon and energy data to CDP’s Climate Change Program and/or Supply Chain Program. Now more than a decade old, CDP has emerged as the global system enabling companies and cities to measure, disclose, manage and share vital information regarding environmental assets.

The course is intended for both new and existing CDP reporters and provides a compelling case for disclosure. Instructors will review techniques for optimizing the emissions quantification process, obtaining verification, and estimating payback for emissions mitigation. Selected case studies will be presented to demonstrate leadership in the reporting process and how organizations can benefit from the associated transparency among stakeholder groups.
