Mike Remsberg, PE

Managing Director, Eastern Region

Mike is Managing Director for Trinity’s East Region with more than 25 years of environmental consulting experience. Mike is a recognized strategic advisor and thought leader on complex air quality issues facing regulated sources including GHG/climate change and related CSR/sustainability matters. As Managing Director, he has executive responsibilities for Trinity’s East Region consulting operations, Trinity’s EHS Information Services business line and Trinity’s aquatic toxicology business, Minnow Environmental, based in Canada. He is also responsible for coordinating Trinity's corporate strategic planning efforts.

Mike's technical areas of expertise include air quality permitting (PSD/NSR/Title V), NESHAP/MACT/NSPS compliance, multimedia compliance audits, GHG audits, emission inventories, carbon footprints, emissions trading of NOx, VOC, SO2, PM2.5 and CO2/GHG, environmental management systems (EMS/ISO14001), quantification of environmental risks and costs, enforcement and litigation support, and environmental due diligence assessments. In 2015, Mike was appointed to the State of Maryland Climate Change Commission's Mitigation Work Group.  In 2014, Mike was selected to be a member of the ASTM technical committee responsible for authoring the inaugural Product Category Rules for Cement Environmental Product Declarations.

In addition to operational and strategic leadership for Trinity’s consulting operations, Mike also provides advice on technical issues that affect the deployment of capital investments and management of compliance risks and opportunities to senior environmental professionals and corporate executives. Mike has delivered technical papers and numerous presentations on a variety of environmental subjects including the use of renewable fuels and alternative materials. He is also active on Trinity's behalf in the National Lime Association and Portland Cement Association. Mike has also provided expert witness support in Clean Air Act litigation cases. He earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland and is a registered Professional Engineer.
