Rob Ferry began his career more than 40 years ago, after earning B.S. and Master of Engineering degrees from Cornell University. After 18 years in the design, manufacture, and construction of storage tanks, floating roofs, and aluminum domes, he co-founded the TGB Partnership in 1993 to provide consulting to industry on air regulations and emissions estimating. Rob has been at the table as the regulations have been written, and he has developed the emission factors and methodologies for storage tanks that are published in EPA's AP-42 document.
Rob's background combines expertise in structural design with knowledge of the regulation and control of air emissions. Prior to co-founding the TGB Partnership, he was the General Manager of a major manufacturer of aluminum structures, with management responsibility for all aspects of the design, manufacture, and erection of aluminum structures. Many of these structures were roofs or covers installed for purposes of vapor containment for either odor abatement or regulatory compliance. Since then, Rob has been engaged as a consultant to industry on regulatory advocacy, permit and compliance issues, emissions estimating, training and workshops, data analysis, and standards writing.
Rob Ferry co-authored Aluminum Structures: Their Specifications and Design as well as numerous papers and presentations on API research on emissions from the petroleum industry and the EPA regulations governing these emissions. Rob is a frequent instructor on air issues pertaining to storage tanks and loading operations that address emissions estimating and regulatory compliance. These workshops have trained more than 4000 participants, from both industry and regulatory agencies, at locations throughout North America. He also developed and presented a four-week training program for the Government of India on all aspects of environmental regulation for the petrochemical industry.
Rob joined Trinity Consultants in 2017 as a Managing Consultant, where he continues to consult and train environmental professionals on storage tanks regulations and emissions management.
