The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) issued a new multi-sector general permit (TMSP), known as the multi-sector permit, which has gone into effect July 1 of 2025. The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) issued a new multi-sector general permit (TMSP), which became effective July 1st of 2025. Facilities with existing coverage must reapply by submitting a Notice of Intent (NOI) through MyTDEC Forms no later than September 30th, 2025. The facility Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) should be updated to reflect the new TMSP by the date the NOI is submitted. New facilities without TMSP coverage should submit an NOI at least 30 days before commencing discharge.
