On June 1st 2017, Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) transitioned to a paperless system for stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP), construction general permit (CGP), and multi-sector general permit (MSGP) notice of intent (NOI) and notice of transfer (NOT) submittals. With the transition, ADEQ is no longer accepting paper applications. In addition, Smart NOI is no longer available online. Instead, as of June 1st, myDEQ can be used to:
- Submit NOIs online, 24/7
- Instantly receive an NOI Certificate and confirmation emails (when a SWPPP review is not required)
- Submit a discharge monitoring report (DMR)
- Receive DMR email reminders for upcoming deadlines
ADEQ has provided user guides for different tasks, such as account setup, NOI and DMR submission, and adding supplemental users. A helpline has also been created in order to assist users and answer any questions regarding myDEQ. ADEQ is planning to add more features to myDEQ by the end of this year.
