The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) is proposing to disapprove in part and approve in part a revision of Arizona's State Implementation Plan (SIP). This will include the implementation of the regional haze program in Arizona for the first planning period through July 31, 2018. This proposed action does not include the three following electric generating stations: Apache Generation Station, Cholla Power Plant, and Coronado Generating Station.

USEPA is taking action today on Arizona's Best Available Retrofit Technology (BART) control analysis and determinations, Long-term Strategy (LTS), Reasonable Progress Goals (RPGs) for the State's 12 Class I areas, and other elements of the State's regional haze plan. Arizona and the USEPA will work together to develop revisions to the plan to address disapproved provisions, if final action is taken by the EPA to disapprove any portion of the SIP.

Written comments on the proposed action are due on or before February 4, 2013. For more information, click here.
