The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) is accepting applications to partially offset costs from purchasing or leasing new high-mileage light and medium-duty zero-emission vehicles for very high mileage fleets operating within BAAQMD jurisdiction. Up to $2 million will be awarded to qualifying projects on a first-come, first-served basis for the fiscal year ending in 2021. Applicants must attend a mandatory pre-application webinar workshop on July 9, 2020, from 2-3 PM and meet the key program eligibility requirements:

  • Vehicles must have a model year of at least 2020 and have a gross vehicle weight rating of 8,500 pounds or lighter
  • Vehicles must meet zero-emission vehicle standards, such as battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles certified by the California Air Resources Board
  • Each project must quality for at least $100,000 in funding
  • Vehicles and equipment must achieve a minimum usage requirement correlating to the amount of funding awarded and must be maintained and operated for a minimum of 3 years

BAAQMD will accept applications until July 15, 2020, at 4 PM or until program funds are exhausted.
