See the latest EHS federal and state regulatory updates due to COVID-19

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) is proposing amendments to District Regulation 3: Fees, and is accepting comments through March 20, 2020. A public workshop was held on February 18, 2020, to discuss the proposed amendments, which once finalized will become effective on July 1, 2020.

The proposed amendments include:

  • increasing fee schedule costs between 3.1% and 15%, depending on the source classification;
  • increasing various application fees;
  • adding renewal fees for facilities subject to the California Air Resource Board's (CARB's) Criteria Pollutant and Toxics Emissions Reporting (CTR) Regulation and Assembly Bill 617 “Community Air Protection Program” (AB 617 Program); and
  • other additional amendments.

The proposed revisions are available online in the Draft Regulation 3 and summarized in the Public Workshop Notice.

Interested parties can follow the Regulation 3 amendment development on BAAQMD's website and submit comments to Barry Young by March 20, 2020.
