The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) and the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project (WOEIP) released a draft of Owning Our Air: The West Oakland Community Action Plan (Draft Plan) and the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for public review and comment.

The Draft Plan and DEIR are part of the Assembly Bill 617 (AB 617) efforts to reduce air pollutant exposure in communitities with high cumulative pollution exposure burden. The Draft Plan outlines strategies to reduce diesel particulate matter (DPM), fine particulate matter (PM2.5), and toxic air contaminants (TACs) from stationary and mobile sources within and adjacent to West Oakland. Affected stationary sources include wastewater treatment, recycling facilities, gas stations, back-up diesel generators, and auto-body shops.

Interested parties can read the Draft Plan and DEIR on BAAQMD's website and submit comments via e-mail to WestOaklandPlan@baaqmd.gov by September 9, 2019. For questions, please contact Trinity Consultants at (510) 285-6351.
