Established by Assembly Bill 2722, the Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) program directs $140 million of California's cap-and-trade revenues for neighborhood-level transformative climate community plans. This includes coordinated greenhouse gas emission reduction projects that provide local economic, environmental, and health benefits to disadvantaged communities. The Program is proposing in the next year to invest $70 million within the city of Fresno, $35 million within the city of Los Angeles, and $35 million in a third community, yet to be determined.
A TCC Stakeholder Summit is scheduled for February 10, 2017 from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm at the California Health and Human Services Agency East End Complex in Sacramento. This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required by February 3, 2017. To register for this free event, click here. This event will allow public input, review best practices, and discuss partnership opportunities. For more information on the TCC program, click here.
