The Massachusetts Department Environmental Protection (MassDEP) issued a notice to hold a public hearing for proposed amendments to 310 CMR 4.00 Timely Action Schedule and Fee Provisions. The proposed amendments clarify the applicability of fee categories, and adjust schedules for MassDEP's permit review under Air Quality, Hazardous Waste, Laboratory Certification, Solid Waste, Water Supply, and Water Pollution Control.
Specifically for Non-Major Comprehensive Plan Approvals (NMCPAs), the proposed amendments clarify that the MassDEP shall complete the public comment review within 72 days of the close of public comment period. This increases the MassDEP's review schedule for NMCPA applications from 126 days to 198 days.
