Last year, the Missouri Hazardous Waste Management Commission underwent an emergency fee increase process, proposing to temporarily raise hazardous waste fees to cover projected budget shortfalls for fiscal year 2022. On March 5, Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR) 38 was signed by both chambers, disapproving the proposed increase. The fee increase will no longer go into effect in 2021 as planned.

The Hazardous Waste Management Commission is evaluating alternative measures to meet the projected budget shortfall, which is still impending. Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions can be submitted to Chris Nagel.
