The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) published final amendments to the New Hampshire Code of Administrative Rules Env-A 1400 Regulated Toxic Air Pollutants (NHAR Env-A 1400). The amendments specifically include the following:
- Updates to the list of regulated toxic air pollutants (RTAP) and their ambient air limits (AALs) to reflect updates by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) Integrated Risk Information System.
- The addition of the definition of "Pump Station" and that such pump stations at publicly owned wastewater treatment facility are exempt from the applicability of the rule.
- Added a number of other exemptions to the rule that include; cooling towers, combustion of landfill gas, routine maintenance activities associated with boilers, and the use of isopropyl alcohol, nitrous oxide and ethylene oxide at health care facilities.
