The Albuquerque – Bernalillo County Air Quality Control Board’s (Air Board) next monthly meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm MDT. The meeting will be held in the Vincent E. Griego Chambers – Albuquerque County Government Center located at One Civic Plaza NW in Albuquerque, NM.
During this meeting, the Air Board will deliberate on the appeal of Honstein Oil’s Air Permit No. 3131. The appeal was filed by the SouthWest Organizing Project (SWOP) in 2014 and sought to rescind the issued permit. On March 24, 2017, the Proposed Findings of Facts and Conclusion of Law were filed stating that the Petitioner (SWOP) failed to meet the burden of proof and recommended the permit be upheld as issued.
In addition to the regular meeting, the Air Board will also hold a public hearing to consider AQCB Petition No. 2017-1. This petition is regarding proposed changes to address the federal rules for MSW Landfills.

Although the Honstein permit is recommended to be upheld, future ramifications for other air quality ATC permittees within Bernalillo County remain. For more information on how we can assist you, contact Adam Erenstein at (505) 266-6611.
