On May 1, 2014, significant rule changes became effective to the State Air Toxics Program. These rules were adopted on March 13, 2014 by the North Carolina Environmental Management Commission (EMC) and became effective as a result of no letters of objection to the Rules Review Commission (RRC) as of April 17, 2014.

Trinity is planning to host a webinar on July 24 to discuss these rule changes. While the rules are much better, we are aware of some unique issues as well as regulatory and policy interpretations associated with the new rules. We will be prepared to discuss those during our webinar.

Also, on October of 2013, the DAQ developed new and updated procedures for processing 502 (b)(10) notifications and minor permit modifications. There are some advantageous procedures that are available to expedite certain projects. Trinity will be reviewing these procedures and compare them to construction bill procedures during this webinar.
