The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has revised their short-term guidance documents for estimating emissions from both fixed roof and floating roof tanks, to reflect the latest updates to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) AP-42 Section 7.1 for Storage Tanks (revised November 2019). Here is a brief summary of the changes made to the guidance documents:

  • Estimating short term emission rates from fixed roof tanks (APDG 6250)
    • Removed historical methodology discussions deemed obsolete by the latest revisions to AP-42 Section 7.1
    • Typographical corrections
  • Short-term emissions from floating roof storage tanks (APDG 6419)
    • Removed references to TANKS 4.09D, as TANKS 4.09D is no longer accepted
    • Removed obsolete meteorological data
    • Updated reference to pull current Best Available Control Technology (BACT) requirements (e.g., TCEQ NSR Form PI-1 General Application)
    • Typographical corrections
