The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) is undergoing various air dispersion modeling and permitting updates, such as:
- Processing new meteorological data for air dispersion modeling. This data will reflect a more recent five-year period and will use the ADJ_U* option. New data is expected to be available on the WDNR website in early July.
- Drafting new guidance for modeling 1-hour nitrogen dioxide (NO2), which may provide relief for facilities modeling against the Significant Impact Level (SIL) or National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). This draft guidance is planned to be available in August.
- Updating Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) minor source baseline dates.
- Revising current rulemaking to assist in streamlining permitting.
More information about these four topics and more will be published as it is available – keep an eye out for updates in future eNews articles!
