Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) – Best Practices and Program Management

This course provides a thorough overview of what CEMS are and how they work, the different types of CEMS, and technologies used to analyze emissions. It details why CEMS are used and the regulations that require their use to demonstrate compliance, and addresses best management practices to ensure reliability, accuracy, and efficient use of facility resources. The CEMS quality assurance plan (QAP) is also discussed in detail. The course is intended for environmental managers, CEMS technicians and managers, and anyone who works with CEMS or CEMS data on a regular basis.

  • Tools to build successful CEMS maintenance and management programs
  • Review frequently occurring CEMS performance issues and methods to prevent those issues from occurring

Effective Management of Stack Test Programs

Learn about managing stack test programs during this 1½-day course. You won’t learn how to be a stack tester, but you will learn how to write effective stack testing RFPs, how to separate the wheat from the chaff among contractors, tricks of the trade that stack testers use (sometimes to your benefit and sometimes not), how to review stack test reports, and other insider information from an instructor who has been involved in stack testing for 30 years. Learn about:

  • Regulatory requirements for emissions measurement and fundamental principles
  • Test program design and preparation
  • Test methods, data reduction, and calculation
  • Relative accuracy test audits (RATAs)
