Advanced Air Permitting in New York – PSD/NSR and Toxic Air Contaminants

This course focuses on two advanced air permitting topics in New York: 1) requirements for major sources and major modifications to existing facilities, and 2) requirements for evaluation of toxic air contaminants. Nonattainment New Source Review (NNSR) and Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) in 6 NYCRR Part 231 will be reviewed, including the requirements to determine your project’s emission potential, perform a netting analysis and conduct air dispersion modeling. Additionally, all air permit modifications and renewal applications must address recently revised requirements under Part 212. The process for demonstrating compliance with Part 212 requirements during the permitting process has become more substantial.
