How We Can Help

We are frequently asked by clients to complete technical reviews of their in-house work or that of other consultants. This has included review of aquatic components of environmental assessments, aquatic environmental monitoring programs, impact assessment, effects assessment, toxicity evaluations, and objective development documents. Our combination of highly specialized expertise and deep experience coupled with detailed understanding of clients’ operational needs allows us to provide insightful comments that often result in more scientifically defensible and cost-effective approaches.  We have been particularly successful in providing cost-saving guidance on monitoring program rationalization (reductions in spatial coverage or monitoring frequency, and statistically rationalized effort), the adoption of cutting-edge technical approaches, the quantification and evaluation of fish habitat effects, and development of fish habitat offsetting opportunities.

We also assist clients with technical workshops, training courses, and “on-the-ground” training.  This has included training on data quality management and field sampling techniques for implementation of water quality, sediment quality, and aquatic biological assessment. We have been called upon to develop field sampling schedules and manuals to help clients meet their regulatory monitoring requirements. Lastly, we often support clients’ internal data collection, management, statistical analysis, and interpretation and we are called upon to provide technical review, comment, or qualified professional (QP) certification.
